Mark is Professor of Social History and Education in IOE, UCL’s Faculty of Education and Society. His areas of expertise are in the modern social and cultural history of Britain, especially the history of education. 

He is a member of the executive committee of IOE’s International Centre for Historical Research in Education (ICHRE) and a co-editor (with Heather Ellis and Stephanie Olsen) of the journal History of Education, published by Taylor & Francis.

Mark acts as the Chair of the Advisory Board on POI.
